The Greek territory comprises ±3.000islands, islets and rocks scattered in the Aegean & Ionian Sea, a truly unique phenomenon on the European continent. Of these Greek islands only 227 are habited. The Greek Archipelago takes up to ±12.000 km, of the country's total ±19,900 km of coastline offering a highly diversified landscape.

AsGreek islands are the cradle of some of the most ancient and prosperous European civilizations (Minoan, Mycenaean, Cycladic, etc.), the islands boast unique archaeological sites, an outstanding architectural heritage of a multifaceted cultural past.

  • IONIAN ISLANDS: Most importants: Zakynthos, Ithaca, Corfu, Cephallonia, Lefkada, Paxi, Antipaxi, Mathraki, Meganissi, Othonoi, Strofades and Ereikoussa the Northern Greek island.
  • DODECANESE ISLANDS: Most importants: Astypalaia, Kalymnos, Karpathos, Kasos, Kos, Lipsi, Leros, Nisyros, Patmos, Rhodes, Symi, Tilos, Halki, and KASTELORIZO (Megisti), RO, STROGYLY: 70 miles South-Est of Rhodes, this is the Eastern point of Greece.
